lene Cummings
is a Human Development Counselor, retreat leader and public speaker.
She has been Executive Director at the Hoffman Institute in California
and Director of The Center for Adults in Transition at Ocean County
College in New Jersey. She has spoken before Nordstrom, Image Industry
Council, San Francisco Chamber of Commerce, Royal Cruise Lines, Commonwealth
Club, Re/Max, San Francisco Institute of Aethestics and Cosmetology,
Stanford Sierra Club, Notre Dame University, to name just a few. People
who have attended her retreats and workshops number in the thousands.
Her career path has typically been one of innovation
and risk-taking. At age 37, while raising five children, Ilene began
her college career. She entered the work force at age 44 as the
Founding Coordinator of a landmark Human Development program for
women. Her graduate degree is in Human Development, and she holds
a Doctor of Ministry in Spirituality and Work from the University
of Creation Spirituality founded by Matthew Fox. Ilene's career has prepared her well to offer counsel on three major
issues confronting contemporary life: (1) the family, its purpose
and tasks; (2) aging, its dignity and power; (3) change, its challenges
and opportunities.
